Position: Payroll Tax Analyst Shift: Monday- Friday, 7:30 am - 4 pm or 8 am - 4:30 pm. Experience: Minimum of four years of payroll tax experience is required. Knowledge of payroll processing, reconciliation practices and automated payroll systems is required. Advanced analytical skills and competencies with office software and spreadsheets is required. Experience processing payroll taxes through a third-party vendor is preferred Essential Accountabilities:- Prepare and transmit all required payroll tax files through a third-party tax processing vendor, balance and reconcile input, monitor processing and resolve errors, respond to vendor inquiries, coordinate vendor response to agency notices, open payroll tax accounts for new companies and jurisdictions as necessary, ensure timely payroll tax deposits and filing of all payroll tax returns and amendments.- Monitor and maintain all employee-level tax setup within the payroll system including state and local tax jurisdictions, non-resident alien tax withholding and visa FICA exemptions. Provide support and instruction to staff in regard to employee tax setup. Process all payroll tax setup and tax balance adjustments due to jurisdiction changes and company transfers including the processing of additional payroll tax withholding and/or refunds.- Review payroll data, perform audits and make any necessary corrections throughout the payroll process to ensure accurate calculation of employee pay checks. Provide timely feedback to management regarding any issues encountered that might impact that accuracy of the payroll or adversely impact the payroll processing schedule.- Process payroll-related withholding disbursements for voluntary and involuntary deductions as assigned. Balance and reconcile payments against payroll deduction registers and reports. Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and approve outbound transmission files as necessary.- Prepare, process and file annual W-2 forms and other year-end earnings reports. Research, resolve and provide corrected forms for all discrepancies as required. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/ Accounting or equivalent work experience required. Continuing education and training in payroll subject matter is highly desirable.
