Position Overview:
The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the multiple Vehicle Maintenance Centers, ensuring optimal vehicle maintenance, repairs, and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing both the technical and administrative aspects of automotive services, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining high standards of quality and performance.
Job Duties:
Manage daily workflow and operations to ensure efficient performance and quality control.
Oversee scheduling, manage timesheets, and approve vacation requests to assure proper staffing and productivity.
Conduct performance evaluations, monitor automotive repair/maintenance to prevent operational delays, and assure proper repair-order flow to maximize productivity.
Maintain a clean, operational, and organized shop environment.
Work with senior management to set departmental objectives and ensure alignment with overall organizational goals.
Remain current on new products and changes to existing products.
Review and evaluate subordinate's performance.
Conduct counseling sessions and disciplinary actions as needed.
Ensure all staff are adequately trained and equipped to meet service standards.
May handle customer inquiries and issues, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.
Adhere to Harris County Fleet policy, procedures, and standards on vehicle care and operation.
Works with Parts Manager to maintain inventory to ensure availability of necessary parts and tools for service tasks.

Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
Experience:
Three (3) years’ Experience managing automotive repair shop or related field.
Five (5) years of Automotive Repair Experience or related field.
Licensure:
Must possess and always maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities in a high-demand environment.
Knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and customers.
Commitment to upholding high standards of service and operational efficiency.
Must have the ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

Must be able to work Days & Nights
Must be able to work at multiple locations in and around Houston depending on Fleet Workload and need.
Must be available to work multiple shifts if needed.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. and/or move boxes and equipment as need.
Subject to occasional kneeling, crouching, handling, climbing, walking, sitting, twisting, and reaching as needed to perform the essential functions.
Environmental Requirements:
Must be able to work in hot, cold & rainy conditions.
May be exposed to dust, dirt, fumes, etc.
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
