Junior Specialist – Department of Surgery Division of Surgical Oncology Maker Laboratory University of California, San Francisco
The Maker Laboratory in the Division of Surgical Oncology in the Department of Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking to fill a Junior Specialist position. The position will work with the laboratory team to learn mechanisms to treat and/or prevent malignancy. This includes our use of pre-clinical models, evaluation of drug/cytokine/immunotherapy delivery to tumors, bioinformatics, and evaluating the tumor microenvironment with advanced platforms that include and are not limited to microscopic, cytometric, genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic assay data. Projects include novel immunotherapy combinations and delivery for liver metastases and early detection of cancer, as well as the compilation of tissue and patient databases from which to perform outcomes and correlative research.
Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must have a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) in biology, chemistry, science, medicine, or a related field or at least 4 years of experience with laboratory experience.
