About the Role
As the Director of Communications, you are responsible for developing effective messaging and communication strategies for the field organization. You will collaborate with internal and external partners to influence functional support in efforts to simplify the work for our store teams. You will bring a deep understanding of the business and leverage your understanding of industry trends to shape stories that convey the company’s priorities, values, and market position. You will lead a team to integrate and operationalize all planned activities to enable stores, field leadership and HQ business partners to optimize performance and results. You should have outstanding leadership, organizational and project management skills with superior written and verbal communication.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with store operations, field leaders and other functional business partners to define, develop and drive key business priorities to support stores and brand goals.
Lead cross functional teams to manage and implement organizational change while defining success criteria, aligning milestones and stakeholder communications.
Independently own and manage strategic initiatives, leading cross functional teams in evaluation of hypotheses, strategic analysis / planning, and operational execution to further store goals and priorities.
Develop and refine project scope, structure, and approach, quantitative and qualitative analyses.
Identify key issues, guide analysis, develop conclusions, and present findings to cross functional leaders.
Build cross functional partnerships and consensus.
Understand emerging industry trends to influence communication strategy for brand and field team.
Drive cultural and change initiatives to improve our field communication strategy that will position the brand as a great place to work.
Be creative, innovative, and curious; able to move from concept to ideation to execution, strong bias for action.
Prioritize, multitask, and oversee multiple concurrent projects and workstreams with various business partners.
Evaluate complex situations and analyze data to make judgments and recommend solutions.
Lead and motivate the ON field communication team to produce high-level, brand-driven content.
Follow up on analytics to evaluate effectiveness of communication plan delivery.
Who You Are
Store Operations experience with a passion for developing team members and mentoring future leaders.
High attention to detail with demonstrated ability to care for multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
Concrete experience managing complex projects and programs requiring thorough leadership to align multiple teams and stakeholders.
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity in a dynamic business landscape.
Able to manage multiple tasks and projects, prioritize, and adapt to a changing environment.
Strong relationship building skills and experience working closely with senior executives and cross functional partners to influence strategic agendas and operationalize key strategic initiatives.
Strong critical thinking and business curiosity, including strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with complex and detailed data to drive insights and decisions.
Excellent written, verbal, and advisory skills, including speechwriting experience; proven track record of delivering exceptional written work.
Flexible to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of business; able to travel overnight as required.
