The Job Coach will work across a variety of job sites to provide supervision, support and training to people with differing abilities. They will develop and implement activities that are person-centered and promote positive outcomes, and provide the supports necessary to promote appropriate social skills and positive behaviors that will enhance skills, enrich lives, and foster community presence & participation.
Pay Rate: Starting at $19/hour
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm

Essential Functions (not limited to):
Facilitates vocational learning through assessments, on-line curriculum and volunteer and or assessment sites.
Ensure the health, safety and well-being of people served by SARAH Inc. in accordance with the individual service plan and in compliance with agency policies and procedures.
Provide supervision, guidance and instruction to individuals served by SARAH Inc. at a variety of community employment sites and supported workers who are served under Individualized Employment Services. Support services can include, but are not necessarily limited to: direct supervision, dispensing medication; behavioral interventions; attending team meetings, etc., job development and providing effective communication with employees at community employment sites and businesses.
Provide transportation for assigned service participants in accordance with SARAH Inc. safe-driving policies and practices.
Maintain medical, social and programmatic files by recording each person’s progress and documenting other required information. This includes, but is not limited to: service goals, attendance records, behavioral data, progress notes, and other documentation as required or needed.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with service participants, families, co-workers and other community representatives.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor degree in related field preferred
Knowledge of learning and behavioral processes helpful
Must possess a valid Connecticut driver’s license, have an acceptable driving history and be able to utilize your own vehicle for SARAH business as defined by SARAH Inc.’s policy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of person-centered, outcome-based services for people with differing abilities
Knowledge of community resources
Skill in working with people with differing abilities
Skill in operating standard office equipment, computer and various software packages.
Skill in communicating effectively in a courteous and professional manner
Skill in writing clearly and concisely to maintain accurate records
Ability to maintain a patient and positive attitude
Ability to drive and travel to varying locations as needed
Required Physical Effort:
Must be able to sit, stand and walk at an assigned location(s) and work for extended periods of time; bend/stoop, kneel and balance frequently; climb, reach above shoulder level; push/pull, squat and crouch occasionally; with assistance, lift, carry and position individuals of various weight. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to drive multi-passenger vehicles for extended periods throughout the day.
