Description
The Distribution Supervisor reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for the performance of distribution employees while implementing and enforcing processes to maintain timely and accurate material receipts, product shipments, and material deliveries to the service department and production line. The Distribution Supervisor must also actively work to improve inventory accuracy through rigorous inventory control processes and regular cycle counts. This position is the primary contact for enforcing safe work practices as well as Lean 6S principles for the shipping/receiving and warehouse areas, and for their employees.

Work Schedule
The Distribution Supervisor will work Monday - Friday 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs
Distribution Supervisor
Improve on-time delivery of parts for production line, repair orders, and parts shipments by managing employees, warehouse-related tasks, and operations priorities as needed continuously.
Improve inventory control and accounting accuracy by ensuring employees are properly trained and managed to perform accurate and timely processes and system transactions to include but not limited to receiving, stocking, picking, shipping, job and service order parts issuing, cycle counting, and year end physical inventory processing.
Research and implement process improvements with documentation and training.
Monitor and update various warehouse-related dashboards daily to understand the work backlog and priorities for shipments and materials distribution.
Track, report on, train, and discipline team members as needed regarding controllable errors that impact inventory accuracy or the timeliness of deliveries.
Lead the annual “Physical Inventory” process by directing the warehouse team to prepare the warehouse in advance, solicit volunteer assistance, facilitate training for the Physical Inventory teams, and support accounting with the Inventory audit.
Work creatively to resolve issues, overcome obstacles, and meet production goals.
Participate in daily production meetings with department managers, supervisors, and team leaders to update material status by unit or department, resolve issues, and support service and production department supervisors/managers on their priorities and plans.
Assist team leaders and employees with resolving material issues such as missing or incorrect parts on the production line or in the service department.
Implement, monitor, and report on relevant Key Performance Indicators to demonstrate improvements and to monitor the performance of each team member.
Ensure teams have the personnel, tools and supplies they need to meet objectives.
Proactively address both internal and external customer concerns.
Become proficient with all job-related systems and processes and become a coach and mentor to employees related to people, processes, and systems.
Any other duties assigned by the senior management.
Secondary Duties:
Verify daily employee attendance each morning to ensure employees are clocked in, or at least accounted for. If there is no record of an absent employee calling in, then notify Human Resources.
Monitor and approve employee timesheets, paid time off requests and attendance points.
Ensure that daily huddles take place on each shift and clarify priorities daily for each team member by effectively allocating resources each day as needed.
Work with managers and human resources to drive hiring, promotions, performance reviews, pay increases, and disciplinary actions for employees. Delegate effectively to maximize the best use of talent and resources available.
Submit maintenance ticket requests as needed to keep equipment and facilities operating in a safe and effective manner at all times.
Be proficient in operating a forklift, stock picker, and computer systems to lead by example, train, and fill in for employees as needed to perform warehouse operations.
Perform all the above functions while adhering to safety policies and procedures. Monitor for, manage, and enforce safe work practices. Work closely with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) team members to ensure adequate and timely response to hazards recognized or incidents that occur.
Perform all the above functions while ensuring housekeeping is a top priority and enforce compliance with Lean 6S principles to keep areas of responsibility clean, organized, and safe.

Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership role leading team of 5 or more.
- High School Education Diploma/GED required.
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
- Past certifications and experience with forklift trucks and stock pickers.
- Clean driving record and ability to be added to the company insurance.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Some university studies preferred.
- APICS CPIM, ISM CPSM, or similar certification preferred.
- Completion of Safety Classes (OSHA 10 or OSHA 40 class or equivalent).
- Lean Six Sigma / Manufacturing training.
- Syteline experience is a plus.
