As a Regional Interior Designer, you will be responsible for developing functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces primarily for (but not limited to) our commercial spaces including recreation centers, sales offices, and amenity spaces. The candidate will collaborate with our residential design teams, division leaders, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to bring a project from conception to execution.
Your Responsibilities on the Team
- Collaborate with department leadership in developing innovative conceptual design presentations that align with the company’s brand identity, keeping in mind functional needs, and a focus on cost effective solutions.
- Research and select appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment for all projects.
- Incorporate principles of functional space planning, ergonomics, and ADA accessibility into design solutions.
- Work closely with architect, engineers, onsite construction teams, division leadership, and vendors, to ensure design intent is accurately implemented during the build out phase.
- Attend design presentation meetings, progress review meetings, frame walks, project installations, final walks, and follow up meetings as required.
- Develop and maintain project budgets and deadlines in coordination with department and division leadership.
- Monitor progress and expenditures to ensure projects are executed on time and within the approved budget.
- Have the ability to complete CAD drawings (including space plans, specifications and elevation details) as needed.
- Purchase, track and maintain inventory on purchased goods.
- Manage vendor invoices for processing and payment as needed.
- Stay abreast of current design trends, updated building codes, regulations and industry standards relevant to residential and commercial design.
- Assist Merchandising Manager and Director on special design projects as necessary.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum 4-7 years of Interior Design background or related experience required.
- Experience in commercial design preferred.
- Proficient in CAD, Photoshop, In-Design, Excel, Word and PowerPoint on Macintosh platform.
- Understanding of Building and ADA codes preferred.
- Experience with purchasing and/or accounting preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional attitude.
- California Motor Vehicle License – unrestricted. Moderate travel (including overnight trips and flights) may be required.
Physical Requirements
Position requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.

General Overview of Compensation:
We reasonably expect the base compensation offered for this position to range from $51,756-$91,981 subject to adjustment based on business-related factors such as employee qualifications, geographic pay differentials, and operational considerations.
