As a Regional Interior Designer Assistant, you will be assisting the Regional Merchandising Manager and Interior Designers with the development and implementation of model homes. The position requires an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, be detail oriented, self-sufficient, dependable, ability to cope under pressure, maintain good judgement, eager to learn and have a professional, supportive attitude.
Your Responsibilities on the Team
- Assist Interior Designers with all aspects of project execution, including conceptual design, space planning, material selection, and procurement.
- Assist with CAD drafting and space planning tasks under the guidance of senior designers and/or managers.
- Maintain material library, organizing samples, catalogs and resources for easy access and reference by the design team.
- Communicate with vendors on custom order quotes and lead times and assist designers with sourcing and procurement efforts as needed.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including PO’s, meeting notes and agendas, presentations, and follow up materials as needed.
- Attend Model installations as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts degree preferred.
- 1-3 years Interior Design or related experience.
- Proficient in CAD, Photoshop, In-Design, Excel, Word and PowerPoint on Macintosh platform.
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and ability manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude.
- Excellent work ethic, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Copes well under pressure and can accept constructive feedback.
- California Motor Vehicle License – unrestricted. Moderate regional travel (including overnight trips and flights) required.
Physical Requirements
Position requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.
