The Visual Media Coordinator is a key member of the Keck Medicine of USC Marketing & Communications office's Content team who creates, edits, and prepares for distribution visual media content — both photo and video. This content includes, but is not limited to studio photos and videos, location photos and health system event photos, utilizing a variety of photographic and digital equipment and techniques. As a member of the Marketing & Communications office, the applicant should be focused on creating photo and video content that can be easily consumed by potential patients, referring physicians and visitors. A self-starter who is productive and organized, the Visual Media Coordinator possesses excellent communication skills that will support meaningful, professional interactions with physicians, leadership, and staff. This position requires an ability to collaborate with marketing, creative team members and designers on ideas and strategies.
Essential Duties:
- Executes photo and video requests for print and digital marketing and communications materials and publications, in conjunction with larger marketing strategies and initiatives. Utilizes various software packages to design and produce finished design projects.
- Interpret photo & video project direction from colleagues, clients and in order to meet all applicable deadlines, such as client review, printing, distribution, etc.
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of projects (photo and video).
- Interprets brand goals and standards and key initiatives of the health system, as they relate to identity, marketing, and photography/videography.
- Complete projects by coordinating with outside freelancers (photographers, videographers, editors), etc.
- Interact with all internal and external sources necessary to successfully complete assignments.
- May assist with training new hires, as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Req Associate's degree
- Req 1 year Experience in a professional visual media production environment
- Req Experience in all Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pref Bachelor's degree Photography, Photojournalism
- Pref 1 year Experience in photographic and videographic techniques and equipment.
- Pref Demonstrated competence in primary areas of visual media production, such as knowledge of photo and video production procedures, practices, techniques, equipment, and terminology.
- Pref Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Premiere
- Pref Experience in using digital archival systems, project management systems
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Req Driver's License (CA DMV)
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
The hourly rate range for this position is $19.00 - $29.77.
