Job Description: This is a position with responsibility relating to improving product reliability and improving Solar equipment’s capability for unattended operation. In this role you will work with a small team, and various subject matter experts, to drive and design improvements/ features to align with our customers unattended operation requirements. You will leverage field data to identify reliability improvement opportunities and development improvements and features to reduce unplanned shutdowns. Scope of improvement efforts could cover maintenance and replacement schedules for parts, design improvements, leveraging redundancy, etc.
In this position you will be a technical focal point for package system reliability and have the opportunity to become the focal point for various systems/components as you work on various portions of the reliability development effort.
Accountabilities include:
- Analyzing data and designs to identifying improvements to improve the reliability of Solar’s package systems to meet unattended operation goals.
- Developing solutions to improve system reliability and unattended operations.
- Recommending component or system changes to improve package reliability to better support remote operation by reducing the number of unplanned shutdowns.
- Testing of components and systems to validate designs and for troubleshooting existing issues.
- Recommending maintenance or replacement schedule changes to improve reliability.
- As appropriate collaborate and coordinate subject matter experts, field engineers, etc. to achieve the above objectives.
- Working with Supply Chain, suppliers, and certifications to develop new components, to improve existing component’s reliability.
- Documenting designs and communicating updates within Solar and to customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with 10+ years of applicable experience or 15+ years of applicable engineering experience without a bachelor's degree
- Hydromechanical and package systems expertise for Turbomachinery systems, or oil & gas power systems
- Experience in using control system data to diagnosis and resolve issues
- Ability to develop robust solutions to complex engineering problems
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Strong initiative and have demonstrated technical leadership in prior engineering roles
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree
- Understanding of operational and maintenance requirements for Turbomachinery systems, or oil & gas power systems
- Understanding/experience with the Solar’s products systems.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary for this role ranges from $123,360.00 to $185,040.00. Actual salary will be based on experience. The total rewards package, beyond base salary includes:

Stipend
A relocation stipend will also be provided. The stipend amount is based on your move distance,family size, and homeownership, according to Solar's policy. You will receive the taxable relocation stipend with your first paycheck.

$123,360.00 - $185,040.00
