ERM?is seeking an experienced Principal Technical Consultant, Geospatial Scientist to join our?Irvine, CA office. The Principal Technical Consultant, Geospatial Scientist will join an existing team of professionals to leverage geospatial and other data analysis and visualization technologies in support of our core services. These include impact assessment, environmental planning and permitting, energy infrastructure studies, health and safety, investigation and remediation, and sustainability related services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with and manage members of a multidisciplinary team to ensure GIS and data deliverables meet or exceed our clients’ needs.
Plan, design, implement, and maintain large, complex, multiyear GIS projects for key ERM clients.
Organize and manage project data, analysis, and mapping following company protocols and industry best practices.
Prioritize, organize, perform, and direct numerous work assignments to junior staff in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment.
Supervise creation of and QA/QC geoprocessing scripts and tools with python and model-builder.
Publish and maintain ArcGIS web-based map services and applications.
Integrate disparate data formats beyond traditional Esri geospatial formats, including KML/KMZ, CAD, LiDAR, Sharepoint, Office 365, Salesforce, and other sources of geospatial and business data.
Expand GIS capabilities by exploring new technologies and software, plus ways to improve existing methods, tools, and workflows.
Serve as a technical resource in assisting others to troubleshoot and resolve problems with specialized GIS software and infrastructure.
Training, supporting, and managing the workloads of team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, natural sciences or comparable field,
8+ years applied professional experience using Esri’s ArcGIS 10x, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online suite of software and extensions or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced experience with data management including organizing and maintaining complex projects containing geospatial and tabular data, aprxs, custom tools and toolboxes, analysis output, maps, and SQL enterprise geodatabases.
Advanced experience designing and conducting complex geospatial analyses utilizing Python or ModelBuilder to develop customized tools and procedures.
Experience designing and developing ArcGIS Online web maps and customized web apps utilizing ArcGIS Server, and integration of Online, Mobile, and Desktop technologies.
Experience building, deploying, and supporting Esri mobile applications such as Field Maps, Survey123, and Operations Dashboard.
Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex project workflows including scripted and automated components across multiple technology platforms.
Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, and Access; and the integration of spreadsheets, relational database tables, and text files in ArcGIS.
Strong oral and written communication skills, keen orientation to detail, and an eye for professional presentation and aesthetics in project deliverables (maps, charts, graphs, tables, and other visualizations).
Previous experience leading and working effectively with others in a team environment to deliver quality projects on time and within budgets.
Proven experience designing and building workflows used by a GIS team on large complex projects.
Thorough knowledge of the technical application, concepts, principles, and theories in GIS and GPS.
Self-motivated, quick learning, curious, resourceful, flexible individual with a common-sense approach to conducting business and workload management.
Preferred but not required:
Master’s degree in GIS, GISP, or other professional certificate.
7 years or more project management experience, overseeing project staff, responsible for budget, deliverables, project schedules, and writing proposals.
Experience performing GIS for linear energy or transportation projects utilizing a map series (data-driven pages/map series), linear referencing and route calibrations.
Experience with Python, R, Arcade, or other scripting and programming languages.
Experience using ArcGIS Pro in a production setting, creating Python geoprocessing tools for ArcPro, and designing queries in Arcade.
For the Principal Technical Consultant, Geospatial Scientist position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $101,241 – $118,250 USD. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above. This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
