Overview: Planet Aid is seeking a highly qualified Controller to oversee our accounting operations. This key leadership role involves ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies, managing financial reporting, and leading our accounting team. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will play a crucial role in maintaining financial excellence and contributing to our social impact mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting activities to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
Supervise weekly payroll processing to guarantee accuracy.
Lead and manage the monthly close process, including approving journal entries and reviewing reconciliations.
Manage all state, local, and federal tax filings.
Prepare, review, and issue financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Lead annual third-party financial audits and manage financial statement footnote disclosures.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls and processes.
Develop an internal audit program to evaluate control effectiveness.
Oversee and maintain accounting system (NetSuite) and associated applications.
Evaluate new technical accounting developments and recommend appropriate actions.
Support internal operational and compliance programs.

Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, including 3 years managing teams.
Proven experience leading an annual, third-party financial audit.
Experience in the NGO/non-profit sector and/or manufacturing industry preferred.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, financial planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and accounting software (NetSuite preferred).
Ability to travel occasionally to our Massachusetts office.
