Department Overview
This role is specific to the Application Verification Team, who supports the Service Planning & Design leadership team. The Service Planning & Design leadership job family is responsible for customer advocacy, project coordination and delivery for new business electric and gas customer projects, designs, cost estimates, contracts, accounts receivables, dependency management, clerical services and other related services. Incumbents are responsible for the strategic engagement and ongoing new business relationship management with large builders and developers, cities and counties, Local Service Planning, Express Connections job owner teams, and active strategic customers in PG&E’s service territory.

The Application Verification Team intakes the applications for Local Service Planning and vets out the application for quality and accuracy before being assigned to a Local Service Planning NBR, SNBR, or IPE. Responsibilities include planning for, and addressing, emerging legislation and trends in new business gas and electric service, partnering with internal stakeholders from other lines of business to successfully enable new business gas and electric load for critical support of economic vitality and housing growth requirements, and providing support during major emergencies.
This position is charged with customer contact and work verification in connection with installation of new business gas and/or electric facilities. NBRs will not prepare job estimates or pre-design packages. AV Team NBR’s verify project work scope, collect necessary documentation, prepare job package and forward application to the appropriate internal stakeholders.
This position requires a 24 month lock per the ESC contract.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This position is subject to collectively bargained hourly wage rates and increases. The starting wage rate for this position is $46.82 per hour. This wage rate is specific to the locality of the job. The wage rate is based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity.

SAFETY

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- Coordinates all other departments or individuals who are involved with the project and works to define the project’s background, objective, design scope, schedule, roles, and responsibilities.
- Coordinates with others, such as Planning, Estimating, Construction and Metering, etc., as necessary
- Ensures that the correct type work category has been applied and collects required documentation from customers to route their application to the appropriate Service Planning group
COMMUNICATION
- Communicates project requirements with external customers, guiding them through the application process
- Facilitates resolution of project-related disputes. Continuous formal communication (both written and verbal) with all stakeholders is given a high priority throughout all stages of the project.
- Prepares job packages, to ensure compliance with application intake standard requirements
- Provides applicants, service planning, estimating, engineering, clerical and construction partners with complete and accurate information on rate and rule applicability, potential costs and timelines.
MANAGING CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS
- Proactively communicates to project stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Guides customer through application timelines and coaches them on what to expect throughout their project process
TARIFFS
- May partner with other PG&E departments and/or rates and tariffs for application of best rates when appropriate.
COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT
- Ensures all applicable project documentation is maintained in an orderly job file.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or its equivalent in education and experience. Such experience must include three (3) or more years of experience in construction project management or PG&E technical service planning; or 12 months of experience as a Hiring Hall (HH) New Business Representative, HH Senior New Business Representative and/or HH Engineering Estimator
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class C California Driver's License (or higher) by Day 1 of hire
- California minimum insurance coverage if using personal car

- Must have strong project management, customer contact and communications skills. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, email.
- Familiar with tariffs, rates, contracts/tools, Work Management (WM) SAP, project approval process, document routing system and estimating and construction work processes.
