Job Abstract

• Analyzing patient demographic registration
• Visit creation
• Insurance Registration
• Chart note scanning, correct DEP selection, and Pseudo code creation for coding work-queue population
• Coordination with various off-site departments, clinics, and hospitals to obtain correct documentation so charge codes can be abstracted from chart notes for billing.

• Vision Service Plan charges into the Eyefinity system.
• Handles complex policy and procedural issues that involve contract compliance with regard to HMO and PPO payers.
• Utilize web-based tools, including payor websites.
• Communicate and coordinate with all outside entities to ensure access to their computer systems for the retrieval of appropriate documentation.
• Conform to all UCSF, MGBS, and Government HIPAA policies and procedures.

An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role. For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range. • Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience in Epic Software

• High School Diploma or GED
• One or more years of Patient Registration experience working in a doctor’s office or a University setting.
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• The ability to work in our Emeryville office when required
