Job Description
The Washington Post is seeking an experienced Sales Planner to join the Client Success team. As a Sales Planner, you will own pre-sale account strategy and recommendations for products and placement across The Washington Post print and digital landscape. Sales Planners will capture client goals and KPIs and translate them into cutting-edge, stand out media executions that will drive overall success for the client. A successful Sales Planner can manage several client directives and analyze industry trends to better align The Post’s content and audience with brand messaging.

Responsibilities:
Foster and maintain client relationships during the pre-sale/RFP process to successfully capture campaign objectives and KPIs
Participate in strategy & pricing negotiation meetings with clients and internal partners
Prepare and revise strategic, robust media plans that align with key campaign objectives and KPIs (includes understanding media math, inventory issues, product specs, and media mix)
Manage ad inventory reservation process across digital OMS
Own moving opportunity and proposal through pre-sale pipeline in CRM tool
Act as the point of contact for internal teams and collaborate to resolve client inquiries from initial outreach, through contract execution.
Clearly articulate proper timeframes and deadlines during the pre-sale process
Partner with product and monetization team to solidify sponsorship/event packaging elements
Regularly collaborate and strategize with:
Sales team with meeting participation, knowledge shares and training opportunities that enhance and improve the group at large.
Pricing/Yield teams for accurate and efficient packaging elements and detail
Marketing team for positioning and recommendations
Own individual proposal tracker for weekly review with internal teams to stay on top of deadlines and proper hand off.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2+ years of relevant digital planning experience (degree in related field is a plus but not required)
Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills
Proficient in media math
Ability to work independently across teams
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
A proactive, customer-first, solutions-oriented and professional attitude
Experience with systems, platforms, and vendors such as: JIRA, Operative, Salesforce, Insertion Order Systems (MediaOcean, Prisma, etc.)
Be a Creative strategist - understand the business implications of decisions
Advanced skill level of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office

The Washington Post includes salary ranges for certain positions to comply with local pay transparency laws. The salary range for this position is:
74,000.00 - 111,000.00 USD Annual
The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
