PrideStaff is currently seeking a Shipping Utility Clerk for a manufacturing company located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This is a full-time, contract to permanent position with opportunity to grow. Please see job requirements below to be considered.
Pay Rate: $17.00 to $18.00 hourly to start
Shift: Monday - Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm
Summary The Shipping Utility Clerk is a crucial role to the Shipping Department. There are a variety of responsibilities and tasks that involve the Utility Clerk including but not limited to, generating and completing work orders (WO) in DCC NetSuite computer system for make item kits and assemblies, pulling the material required for WO’s and physically putting together the kits and assemblies for inventory and consumable orders. They will support the Shipping Team with special shipment requirements such as adding international cables and cords to boxed units, adding/applying special labels to units and boxes. The Utility Clerk will also be involved in unit upgrades and reconfigurations required for finished goods inventory before shipment. They will also be cross trained to help when needed to pick parts and prepare orders for shipment while making sure products are correct, in good condition and packed sufficiently to avoid damage in shipping. They will help with putting away, maintaining and cycle counting inventory. The ideal candidate showcases in his or her resume attention to details, accuracy, time management, and teamwork. Required:
Monitor and maintain inventory for kits and assembled inventory items.
Generate work orders in NetSuite computer system required for kits and assembled inventory items. Complete and close work orders in NetSuite system once kits or assembled items are complete.
Pick from inventory parts required for kits and assembly items and physically make the kits and assembled items for inventory and/or customer orders.
Support Shipping Team with special requirements such as adding cords or cables to each unit, or adding special labels to units, power supplies and outside boxes before preparing and packing for shipment.
Put away new material and conduct physical inventories and cycle counts as required.
Cross train and support when needed both small orders picking, packing and fulfillment and palletized order preparation.
Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment ensuring that the correct part number and quantity is pulled, packed and shipped
Responsible for the completeness and correctness of orders filled
Pack orders in best manner to protect during shipment and weigh final packages for shipment
Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to read and count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly
Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time
Fast paced in shipping warehouse conditions
The ability to follow directions is extremely important
Computer knowledge is helpful, especially FedEx and UPS Ship Managers.
No forklift experience is required as responsible person will not be driving the forklift.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Computer knowledge including Inventory Computer Systems, Excel, Word and Outlook.
