Your New Role...
The Manager, Book & Mass Sales is responsible for account management and activating sales programs for DC comics and graphic novels in North American Book and Mass channels. This role plays a key role in growing DC’s presence with libraries and bookstore accounts.
Your Role Accountabilities...
Lead day-to-day communication with DC’s distributor into Book and Mass channels and oversee account specific sales and marketing plan activations, including premium placement of priority releases and programs, and the establishment of trade marketing solutions.
Oversee the process of Sales Solicitation into Book and Mass channels, ensuring key timelines for distributing titles through our distribution partner, PRHPS, are communicated to key internal stakeholders, and that key metadata and title information is updated in the distributor’s point of sale system.
Lead the development of sales materials and communications for sales meetings and presentations with distributor(s) and retail buyers, as well as attend trade shows/conventions to communicate publishing priorities and slate initiatives.
Activate sales and marketing plans for priority releases and programs, tracking how each performs against established goals and KPIs. Review sales plans and progress regularly with the Director, Mass & Digital Sales.
Collaborate with internal cross-divisional stakeholders and external partners to maximize results of sales and marketing programs. Liaise with Editorial teams to understand publishing events and be able to communicate key selling points of each.
Analyze and present sales results for key accounts, including updating scorecards, tracking KPIs and key title performance, and post-mortem analyses on priority releases and programs.
Prepare title forecasts for greenlight, inventory and print run meetings, along with ad hoc requests for sales estimates.
Qualifications & Experience...
Minimum four (4) years of experience in account management, sales, marketing, or operations.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in publishing or retail sales.
Experience in data analysis and/or market research is a plus.
P&L management experience is a plus.
EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL TRAINING, TECHNICAL TRAINING OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Self-motivated business manager comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly dynamic work environment.
Collaborative relationship-builder who works well with colleagues and external partners at all levels of management.
Skilled communicator who showcases the ability to influence others and drive results.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
