What You Will Do:
We are hiring a Cloud Architect to work in support of our USDA customer. This position is required to be flexible to work a hybrid schedule (in the office 2 days a week).
Participates in design, implementation, and deployment of custom cloud-native applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud. Assists with all phases of the software development process. Participates in design decisions related to cloud services, including research and prototyping. Builds and maintains deployment automation and system configuration needed in Jenkins for continuous integration and continuous deployment of successfully built and tested applications to AWS.
- Work effectively as a Cloud Architect within cross-functional, agile teams.
- Define and document application architecture in the cloud as well as the corresponding network architecture and deployment architecture
- Configure cloud systems for high availability and scalability
- Assist with the deployment of database, search engines and software changes
- Administer Linux and Windows servers and Docker containers
- Diagnose/debug faults in complex services or distributed systems.
- Perform work under continuous deadline pressure.
- Identify and script automatable problems, test and perform work with efficiency in mind.
