You will be working closely with the Project Accounting Manager to coordinate all phases of the construction cost process including categorizing, recording, analyzing and monitoring costs and billings associated with a large construction project as well as several smaller less complex projects.
Compensation:$100,000+ DOE Location: Dulles, VA Schedule: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm
Senior Project Accountant Responsibilities:
As a Senior Project Accountant, you will work closely with the Project Manager to oversee the financial activities of the project, create financial appraisals and reports, and generate forecasts
Monitors budgets and commitments, processing subcontractor and vendor invoices, preparing drafts of owner invoices, and resolving any issues or error that arises
Identify risks or opportunities and prepare monthly financial reports with current estimates
Using your leadership and collaborative skills, you will serve as a mentor and provide training and supervision to Project Accountants
Prepares special analyses as required.
Senior Project Accountant Requirements:
Must have prior construction accounting experience, well versed in construction financial projects
Minimum of 5 years of Project Accounting experience
Cost-plus Accounting experience
With your excellent verbal and written communication skills, you are an ace at bringing a collaborative energy to the team
Excellent computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate to expert level ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc. required
You are no stranger at working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. Flexible and adaptable to changing needs.
Analytical, problem solving, critical thinking skills, self-started requiring little supervision
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent preferred
