Job Summary

The mission of People Operations is to provide strategies and organizational solutions that enable our workforce to deliver unparalleled value to our customers and mission. As an experienced member of the People Management team you will be part of the Center of Expertise (COE) responsible for Performance Management and Employee Relations. We are looking for a proven self-starter who has solid employee relations experience in this individual contributor role reporting to the Director, People Management.

Work Model

This position will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with onsite work required in El Segundo, CA.

What You Will be Doing

• Partner with and coach managers and employees at all levels to provide objective guidance and advice regarding employment policies and employment practices, and achieve resolution of complex issues such as misconduct, accommodation requests, and performance deficiencies.
• Conduct effective investigations, including thoughtful conclusions, and recommendations and write comprehensive reports. Provide expert direction, guidance, and consulting on a wide range of complex employee relations issues.   
• Become a subject matter expert (SME) in our performance evaluation processes and keep up to date on external performance management trends.
• Develop and provide training on all aspects of goal setting, feedback, performance review preparation and discussions, to include Workday systems usage.
• Interpret and research policies and procedures, incorporating knowledge of state and federal employment laws (i.e. ADA, FMLA, EEO) and practices to recommend resolutions.
• Work closely with management, strategic people partners (SPPs), and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
• Establish credibility and rapport by developing and maintaining strong and effective working relationships with all levels of management and employees regarding all types of employee relation issues (ADA, FMLA, misconduct, time and attendance etc).
• Develop metrics and analytics reports for executives.
• Initiate and participate in People Operations special projects.

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements Level III: 

• Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Behavioral Sciences, or related discipline.
• Six or more years’ experience in Human Resources, including five or more years of direct experience in employee relations which may be included as part of an HRBP role.
• Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience with Workday.

Minimum Requirements Level IV: 

• Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Behavioral Sciences, or related discipline.
• Ten or more years’ experience in Human Resources, including five or more years of direct experience in employee relations which may be included as part of a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) role.
• Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience with Workday.

How You Can Stand Out

• Master degree in Human Resources, Behavioral Sciences, or related discipline
• Proficiency in an Employee Relations case management software package
• Demonstrated experience coaching and consulting with managers and employees
• Solid knowledge and understanding of effective employee relations practices and employment and labor laws and regulations
• Ability to exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills and high level of initiative
• Experience with conflict resolution strategies
• Strong project and time management skills; extremely organized and able to work across multiple departments and stakeholders
