Sawtelle Learning Center, located in Montclair, NJ is a DOE approved non-profit school for students ages 5-21, presenting with autism spectrum disorder or other related disabilities. Sawtelle provides intensive individualized instruction and behavioral support based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Provide activities/supervision which facilitate professional growth of school staff and enhance the quality of the instructional and behavioral programming.
Establish, implement, and evaluate procedures used to carry out the school's daily routine.
Effectively involve staff in determining priorities for instruction and behavioral support.
Responsible for yearly ordering of curriculum supplies and monitoring teaching supplies throughout the school.
Responsible for working on curriculum articulation and training staff in effective implementation.
Possess strong ability to lead in a collaborative, team environment.
Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers, including modeling best practices, conducting observations, and providing constructive feedback.
Demonstrate cultural competence and ability to create inclusive environments that honor and support a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Develop plans for integrating technology into the curriculum effectively.
Support School Administrator with other tasks/duties.
