Annually: $71,572.80 - $88,670.40

TELEWORK/ON-SITE OPPORTUNITY
This position is eligible for a combination of telework and on-site work assignments. Telework must be completed from a pre-designated home-based location within the State of California and employees may be required to report on-site to address business needs.
Telework is at the sole discretion of the Court and may be rescinded with 48 hours' notice, based on needs of the Orange County Superior Court.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Under general supervision, the Staff Development Specialist plans, organizes, develops, and conducts one or more training segments on an individual or classroom setting. The incumbent performs technical level teaching assignments in subject areas which may require considerable experience in the area(s) being taught; assists in organizing, developing, coordinating, and planning a variety of training activities.
The Staff Development Specialist performs a variety of functions in support of an adult training and development programs. Some of the duties and tasks assigned are:
- Develops, coordinates, and conducts one or more segments of a staff development program, including asynchronous training and microlearning solutions; trains staff in techniques, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws governing agency/department operations for which the incumbents are responsible.
- May assist in new employee orientation, affirmative action, code of ethics training and cultural awareness training and similar programs presented to various agency/department staff.
- Works with subject matter specialists and consultants in planning training content, selecting training methods and materials, and scheduling training programs.
- Prepares and assists in writing training proposals and plans.
- Prepares training schedules, arranges for special presentations by subject matter specialists and selects locations for training.
- Conducts evaluation studies of training programs to determine their effectiveness and how it may be increased.

Staff Development Specialist
Minimum Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) of full-time (or equivalent) experience in any of the following areas: organizational training, instructional design, curriculum development, adult learning programs, technology instruction, safety training and assessing educational return on investment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Bachelor's degree in communications, education, human resources, business or public administration, psychology or a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of required experience. Note: To receive substitution credit, a copy of your college official transcripts must be included with your application.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience developing and designing both traditional, facilitated learning and e-learning curricula.
Experience developing asynchronous training and microlearning solutions.
Experience using e-learning design software to create materials and courses.
Ability to use online web conference software to deliver classes including the use of breakout rooms, whiteboards and conduct surveys.
Experience facilitating in both in-person and virtual training environments.
Experience using a learning management system.
