Job Description
The Special Projects Manager will help drive priority efforts across Wonderful’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team. Part strategy and part project manager and executor, this role will be a high-impact contributor to the Education, Health and Wellness, and Community Philanthropy efforts at Wonderful. This person will need to roll up their sleeves and provide end-to-end guidance and support for our most important initiatives, while also maintaining a high-level view of new or evolving opportunities to drive broad impact in combatting the cycle of poverty in the Central Valley. This person will work closely with a variety of groups and stakeholders and will need to ensure everyone remains coordinated as projects are brought to fruition. The Special Projects Manager will also need to be able to measure success and opportunities for improvement across CSR programs and develop communication materials for executives.
This leader will oversee the design and implementation of programs across the Education, Health and Wellness and Community Data verticals, navigating how to organize, prioritize, and execute various programs nimbly and flexibly adjusting timelines to our dynamic environment and proactively planning for seasonal shifts in business needs. The role will be based in either Los Angeles, CA or Delano, CA and will require travel weekly within California's Central Valley.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Special Projects Manager will be a dynamic role, meaning projects with continuously evolve as our programs evolve. As such, this role focus on the following duties and responsibilities:
Strategy: Identify challenges or opportunities for improvement, research potential solutions, and support leadership in determining desired path forward
Project management: Detail plans to shift from current state to future desired state and oversee execution of various projects, often simultaneously, directly supporting execution where necessary
Grants & funding: Source and pursue funding opportunities to support CSR programming and ensure sustainability long into the future, including writing grant applications
Measurement: Develop robust metrics to monitor program success, install necessary data collection and reporting, and monitor over time to ensure program achieves desired results
Stakeholder engagement: Work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to gauge ongoing needs, gather potential solutions, and communicate solutions as necessary
Executive reporting: Develop communications required to keep executives informed of project strategy, status, and results

The following highlights specific ongoing roles with examples of current priorities within them that will change as each reaches maturity and/or is completed.
Community Health & Wellness: Work with our Lost Hills Community Health Center to develop a plan to gauge community health needs, market our services, and drive additional patient visits
Student Health & Wellness: Expand and refine our current Student Stress Program to ensure efficiencies in service to our patients and systems/processes are in place to facilitate service and reporting thereof
Community Initiatives: Work with Lost Hills community leaders to develop long-term strategy for parks & recreation district
Community Partnerships and Grant Support: Support Director of Grant Management in building a public grant management strategy. This may include prospect research, project managing the grant acquisition process, attaining required data or contributions from stakeholders to support grants, or writing all or portions of grants as appropriate
This role will require regular (i.e., weekly) travel throughout the CA Central Valley
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment with limited direction
Strong strategic thinking abilities, identifying problems or challenges, conducting research to identify solutions, and gathering stakeholder buy in to align on a path forward
Strong project management skills, having managed and successfully completed diverse projects, with the ability to outline detailed plans to shift from current state to future desired state
Solid understanding of leading models and methods for program and project management
Clear sense of personal integrity and commitment to accuracy and transparency; does the right thing even when it is not the easy thing
Superior cross-functional collaborator with the ability to build relationships within an organization
Strong analytical and quantitative skills as well as attention to detail
Demonstrated experience working with geographically dispersed teams
Excellent communication, analytic and problem-solving skills; sound business acumen and strategic thinking
Flexible multi-tasker, with the agility and ability to adjust priorities on the fly to fulfill urgent request and a “roll up your sleeves” attitude
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
At least 3 years of experience with project management and/or strategy
At least 3 years of experience in community and/or philanthropic initiatives and organizations
Bachelor's degree required with preferred concentration in education, health and wellness, business, social welfare or public affairs; master’s degree is a plus
Outstanding Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; PowerBI, Alteryx, and other data analysis tools a plus
Outstanding Adobe Suite skills
Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
