Job Summary
The Studio Art Media Lab Associate position is available for students who have a familiarity with or interest in working with digital and analog technologies. Students with skills in video, audio, photography, printing, interactive media, projection mapping, micro-controllers, coding and other areas are all welcome to apply. The successful candidate will be available 6 (min)-12 (max) hours a week. In addition to this, the Media Associate may occasionally provide drop-in assistance to fellow students, help develop and deliver multimedia workshops, and assist faculty in their courses. Punctuality, leadership, work ethic, and approachability are required. The successful candidate will feel confident in troubleshooting equipment and pursuing answers to students’ technology questions.
Responsibilities
Test and organize, assist students with technology in Studio Art labs, and collaborate with the Media Manager on keeping equipment inventory.
The Media Lab Associate must assist in all of the above while following and reinforcing all Covid guidelines.
Qualifications
Media Lab Associate must be a student enrolled at Oberlin College with skills and interest in creative technologies. Examples include: Software: Adobe Creative Cloud Reaper, Logic Pro, or other DAWs Processing, Sketchup Unity, Blender
Hardware: Video Recording/Playback (incl. older camcorders & VHS) Sound recording Arduino, Raspberry Pi Projectors Large-format Printers
