What you’ll be doing...
The Associate Director Network and Information Security will manage in a tiered network and security operations center and must manage Tier I and II Engineers responsible for supporting complex and diverse networks for Verizon and our customers in a coordinated effort with peer managers of other tiered services. This position requires after hours standby support on a regular basis. Applicants for this position must have strong network engineering experience operating in a multi-vendor environment along with experience using security tools like Vulnerability scanners and Security information and event management (SIEM) and/or threat hunting tools and techniques like AC Hunter and Corelight/Zeek. Will manage engineers who assist in the resolution of malfunctions by using advanced network troubleshooting techniques to isolate problems and/or coordinate the appropriate level of corrective actions with all organizations involved to restore customer services using systematic approaches. Analyzes complex solutions on the networks that may require configuring routers, switches and other systems installed on the network. Manages the workflow of engineers providing technical support through the application of upgrades and break-fix actions to network switches, routers and network transport equipment like Fujitus and Cienas Ethernet switches. Applies sound management decisions during implementation of cost-cutting solutions to the networks that reduces operating cost while maintaining or increasing the level of support to the customer. Should have experience working with project managers in support of new customer initiatives. Schedules and coordinates with vendors on the routine maintenance and repair of systems as required. Candidate must have good writing skills with experience in documenting technical work. Candidate should have experience providing leadership to a team to include directing activities, delegating tasks, providing mentorship to subordinates and developing training curriculum.
What we’re looking for...
Highly motivated candidate with the ability to demonstrate strong network and/or Cybersecurity experience. We need someone who is flexible yet firm in their resolve to complete tasks on schedule.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Must be be able to undergo an extensive background investigation.
Employee can expect the likelihood that they may work swing shift for the duration of this position
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Cisco CCNA or higher level certification like the CCNP strongly preferred, but an equivalent level of experience can be substituted.
Juniper JNCIA and ITILS certifications or equivalent experience is a plus.
Good writing skills with experience in documenting technical work.
Experience providing leadership to a team to include directing activities, delegating tasks, providing mentorship to subordinates and developing training curriculum.
