Job Description
The Opportunity
Under the direction of the Controller, this role will be responsible for: Coordinating the North Divisions process for creating the annual budget for client forestland properties; importing the quarterly actual General Ledger records to compare to budgeted amounts for same time periods. Properties consist of over 1,700,000 acres of timberland.
Providing various types of Prophix reporting for budget/actual/forecasts as well as providing data analysis for the Operations General Manager, Regional Managers, and the Client Account Management (CAM) team in Boston.
As part of Budgeting / Forecasting process, work with the Operations team on the creation of the annual and quarterly harvest plans into the Forest Ops System (FOPS), including daily uploads of actual load volume data from the Log Inventory Management System (LIMS) into FOPS.
This candidate will work as a key team member that will support Operations, the General Manager, and the CAM team.
Responsibilities:
Create spreadsheets, correspondence and Prophix reports as needed or requested.
Book journal entries and create reconciliations working with Controller and Assistant Controller for monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes.
Coordinate the budget for client properties annual budgets.
Coordinate the quarterly re forecasts process
Assist MIMFM Regional personnel in scheduling of harvest activity in FOPS.
Coordinate and Host the quarterly Backward/Forward Look conference calls.
Provide various Prophix quarterly reports of budget/forecasts to regional personnel.
Provide data analysis and reports to CAM group and Operations Manager.
Assist the Accounting Dept. with documentation of accounting procedures.
Provide effective backup for all A/P, A/R, and Cash Management functions.
Other duties as assigned by the Controller or Assistant Controller, work may include tasks and duties to fill in for other team members should the need arise.
Work is performed in a temperature-controlled office building most of the time (unless specifically stated otherwise by Manulife).
Adhere to company dress codes – business casual office attire.
Lead/Assist in training of AR Accountant II and entry-level AP Accountant.
Provide oversight to Accountants in processing of client property Real Estate Taxes.
In conjunction with the Southern Division, track revenue & costs related to the Alternative Land Use program. Train other Accountants to handle these tasks while maintaining oversight of overall processes for the ALU website and program.
Special projects and / or reports as requested or needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting or Business Administration.
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
Coachable personality that is highly motivated to service their internal MIMFM and MIMTA customers, learn and grow.
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word is a must.
Demonstrated strong organizational skills & problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated ability in Great Plains accounting system.
Demonstrated ability in Great Plains accounting system.
Demonstrated familiarity with the Prophix reporting system.
Demonstrated familiarity with the Forest Ops harvest scheduling system.
Ability to recognize urgent/important tasks and prioritize them accordingly.
Must demonstrate being a team player.
Willing to work overtime when needed.
Physical Demands:
Frequent sitting, occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
View and type on computer screens for long periods of time.
Manual dexterity must be sufficient to operate a keyboard.

Salary range is expected to be between
$68,475.00 USD - $114,125.00 USD
