The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Director of Operations to support the Women’s Softball program.
The Director of Operations, Softball will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to:
- Providing exemplary customer service to internal and external constituencies
- providing operational and logistical support to the Head Softball Coach, coaching staff, and student-athletes, as requested
- supporting operational and game day needs
- providing game day technical support
- preparing statistical spreadsheets and performing other analytics
- performing other duties as assigned that support or add value to, the goals and objectives of the unit.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to be flexible in terms of work schedule to accommodate the gameday and events schedule.
- Ability to prepare spreadsheets, provide information and perform operational functions.
- Ability to communicate accurately and in an effective manner - spoken and written.
- Ability to develop good working relationships with all internal and external constituencies.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations for the sport of Women’s Softball is highly preferred.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Experience: Some working knowledge of and familiarity with collegiate Women’s Softball is preferred but not required.
- Licensure: Valid driver's license required.
- Computer Applications: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred.
Physical Demands
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
