Applies wide-ranging experience to manage and lead complex and unprecedented projects that impact the medical center, campus, enterprise or external partnerships Leads projects with little or no campus, medical center or Office of the President precedent where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Considered a subject matter expert in the organization and industry and influences and guides institutional project management methods and processes. the industry. Projects may be passed off to the owners to implement and maintain. Requires level of expertise in project management such as project management certificate and / or quality improvement processes like Six Sigma or Lean or equivalent project management experience.
With work direction provided by the Associate Dean for Admnistration and Finance, and Chief of Staff, the Project Manager will be responsible for contibuting to new and ongoing School projects and programs from multiple functional areas, including but not limited to patient care, education, research, or external/internal engagements. The Project Manager will plan, execute and supervise projects to meet School strategic objectives and to ensure project delivery within budget and/or on time. The incumbent will develop project plans, convene project core team meetings, drive project deliverables forward, and proactively communicate project status updates to UCSF School of Dentistry leadership.
This position is a contract role for two years from the date of hire with possibility to be extended.

- Project management certification from a reputable organization such as PMP, CSM or ACP to include a qualifying exam and / or quality assurance processes like Six Sigma or Lean or equivalent project management experience required.
- Experience in a higher education and/or health care setting.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or minimum 8 years of project management experience
- Minimum 10+ years of related experience
