Description
Hospice of the Piedmont is dedicated to providing exceptional hospice care to patients during the final stages of life. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated full-time Hospice Aide (CNA) to join our team at the Center for Acute Hospice Care in Charlottesville, VA.
As a Hospice Aide in our residential hospice care program, you will play a crucial role in providing comfort, support, and assistance to patients and their families during challenging times. This is a fulltime day shift position working 7a-7p, alternating weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care following the care plan developed by the interdisciplinary team.
Assist with personal care, ambulation, positioning, and transferring as required.
Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior to the hospice nurse.
Set up meal trays, feed patients, and assist with necessary housekeeping.
Document all care provided and changes in patient condition accurately and timely.
Use positive communication techniques with patients and families, ensuring ethical and respectful care.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
Respect and uphold patient rights and confidentiality.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Virginia.
Prior experience in hospice care or a similar setting preferred but not required.
Knowledge of principles and practices of direct patient care.
Compassionate and empathetic nature with the ability to provide emotional support.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Physical stamina to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
