About This Job
Axos Bank is seeking a Vice President of Fund Finance Underwriting. This position is responsible for the implementation of the Credit Risk Underwriting/Management function for Fund Finance, including underwriting complex transactions, evaluating credit proposals, and making written credit recommendations to management specifically identifying and assessing risks and mitigants, and repayment ability, ensuring compliance with external regulatory and internal bank policy and guidelines, and management of support staff. The incumbent will participate in the development and recommendation of objectives, policies and procedures, ensuring consistent operational, regulatory and quality standards and methods as it relates to Fund Finance credit underwriting function, risk-rating assessment, while providing quality resource training, guidance and functional direction to support staff, monitor portfolio quality, turnaround time, and provide performance feedback to staff.
This position is onsite with hybrid option in NYC. Additionally, onsite in San Diego or Los Angeles.
Responsibilities:
Manage and effectively execute on existing pipeline of Fund Finance transactions, including subscription facilities, NAV and hybrid facilities, management company revolvers and GP Capital Contribution Facilities
Assume some credit structuring and other credit process responsibilities including risk rating assessment- Oversight of analyses of the financial condition and credit worthiness of existing and potential clients
- Ensure monthly and/or quarterly reviews of existing borrowers track compliance with covenants, raising potential concerns to Relationship Managers (RM) and Senior Management for resolution; monitor actions taken to address remedial management
- Independently formulate questions and directly engage with customers/prospects, in addition to RM and Senior Management, to address any information, issues, or concerns
- Provide input on product features/benefits and marketing proposals to support the business
- Assist with the preparation of reports, information requests, credit inquiries, Pre-Investment Committee submissions, term sheets, Credit Memorandum, and other special requests
- Perform industry and asset research and other due diligence as needed
- Recommend changes to processes, policies, procedures, and technology to achieve greater efficiency
- Ensure all credit commitments are documented in accordance with credit approvals and legal guidance
- Conduct due diligence and attend bank/customer meetings as required
- Act as primary point of contact for audits, including OCC reviews
- Perform related duties and participates in special assignments and projects as required
- Assist in complex deal negotiations throughout the documentation and funding stages of approved transactions. Assist with the preparation of reports, information requests, credit inquiries, Pre-Investment Committee submissions, term sheets, Credit Memorandum, and other special requests.
- Assist in screening and structuring new loan opportunities. Draft and negotiate term sheets with counterparties. Prepare credit write-ups and present to senior management.
- Execute complex transactions for assigned products
- Evaluate the potential for cross sell opportunities and cross department due diligence. Independently formulate questions and directly engage with customers/prospects, in addition to RM and Senior Management, to address any information, issues, or concerns.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years’ experience within Fund Finance
