Background & Purpose of the Job
As part of Unilever’s North America (NA) Finance Excellence Team (FET), this role will support NA Customer Operations and NA business units (BUs), reporting to the Senior Manager of the Finance Center of Excellence (CoE) and will be based out of Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
The essence of this role is to provide objectivity as the conscience of the business, seeing the bigger picture & holding the mirror up, moving between major control & value-based topics, protecting & liberating value for NA. This role will span responsibilities of the Finance Excellence Team (FET) and Controllership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for both group and local statutory reporting, continuously improve the quality of accounting in NA & implement changes in accounting standards, policies & procedures. In addition, the role will support the Customer Operations Finance team on strategic work such as capacity investments, savings, and other organizational projects in NA.

The AFM will be aligned with our key business processes and play an integral role on cross-functional teams to lead our forecasting and performance management for NA Customer Operations.
By providing an integrated financial perspective on the impact of business decisions, the AFM makes recommendations and influences decisions that maximize value for the business.
Plays an active role in driving for change and continuous improvement in the business and within finance; identify areas that require improvement- increasing transparency, accuracy, and reliability of information
Collaborates effectively with other functional finance leaders to ensure that financial processes, including forecasts, are running effectively
Ensure capital expenditures are properly controlled and accounted for and savings investment projects validated
What You Will Need to Succeed
A degree in accounting or a professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, etc.)
Prior exposure to the North America finance and ways of working
Analytical thinking / problem solving ability.
Ability to combine multiple and different data points to draw conclusions
Apply systematic approach to identify and eliminate root causes
Sees problems through to a complete solution beyond the immediate next step
Business acumen
Understanding of the FMCG industry and the challenges
Rapidly absorbs new information, knowledge and applies new techniques, technology, and procedures
IT and Communication Skills
Excellent level of computer literacy (incl. Excel, PowerPoint & SAP) and numeracy skills
Professional communication skills for all levels of the organisation

Pay: The pay range for this position is $84,400 to $126,600. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
