NOV Aftermarket is currently recruiting for an Assembler - Mechanical to join our team at 5100 N Sam Houston Pkwy W, Houston, TX. The main responsibilities of this role include the following.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assemble production tools from hydraulic and electrical blueprints and verbal instructions.
Equipment handling, disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of mechanical and electrical assemblies.
Generate parts lists based on blueprints and perform parts inventory.
Terminate wires into electrical boxes and point-to-point wiring in 12v 460v 600v systems.
Equipment, function & hydraulic testing.
Set up subassemblies to specifications and test units.
Communicate with project planners to resolve problems related to production parts or blueprints.
Troubleshoot production tools and repair if necessary.
Perform assignments in accordance with written procedures that advances NOV's quality policy.
Operate a forklift as required.
Operate bridge crane, man lift, and scissor lift.
Maintain shop housekeeping to 6S standards.
Participate and lead continuous improvement efforts.
Perform other work-related tasks as required as assigned.
Comply with all NOV Company and HSE procedures and policies.
Education & Experience Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2-years' experience in heavy equipment assembly or maintenance or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Experience in the assembly of hydraulic/electrical components and systems.
Technical education, product knowledge, or experience desirable.
Job Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Must possess a mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Must be able to install, inspect, maintain, operate troubleshoot, and repair various mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic equipment.
Must be able to complete all appropriate documentation associated with the duties.
Technical Competencies:
Microsoft Office Suite experience
Oil and Gas technical knowledge is desirable
6S (Organization/Standardization) experience or knowledge a plus
