Ultimate Staffing is seeking Referral Specialists in the New Haven area!

We are seeking a Referral Specialist to become a part of our team within a busy multi specialty practice.
The Referral Specialist acts as the central point of contact for all medical office activity related to patient referrals for a specific specialty.

You must be available from 7am-7pm for this position. You will be assigned a shift during these times, but must be available for the entire duration.

$30 per hour, 37.5 hours a week**

Duties include but are not limited to:

Answer telephone calls within a high-volume call center environment.
Provides administrative assistance for all patient calls and department staff and escalates any urgent patient inquiries to the corresponding providers/clinicians.
Manage the departments monthly calendar with schedule updates and pertinent provider information.
Schedules/Confirms patient appointments and resolves scheduling conflicts. Notifies patients of changes/cancellations and prioritizes urgent scheduling requests.
Updates patient information and verifies insurance information, including initiating billing processes by completing patient encounter forms.
Schedules surgical procedures for patients. Coordinates and schedules available dates for surgery and scheduling of pre and post-operative exams and lab work.
Obtains and distributes necessary paperwork and utilizes a tracking system to provide updated scheduling information to clinical staff.
Utilizes computer input and receives important patient data necessary for referral and scheduling management.
Obtains patient charts, medical records, and lab reports and verifies for completeness.

Qualifications;
4+ years handling medical referrals
Epic experience is preferred but not required
Experience scheduling in a high-volume healthcare call-center/practice
Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience using electronic medical record system, multi-line telephones and call queues.
