ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Senior Associate will help execute Aspen FSPs communications strategy by creating and implementing cohesive, integrated content for a wide range of Aspen FSP platforms, including its website, email, and social media channels. In this role, the Senior Associate will help develop and maintain Aspen FSPs brand voice and communicate its impact to key stakeholders and audiences.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing & Communications, The salary range is $70,200$80,000. The role is based at Aspens Washington D.C. headquarters, with an in-office expectation of a minimum of 2x a week to collaborate with colleagues.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Content Management (40%)
- With strategic direction from the Associate Director, manage all deadlines and workflows for the Aspen FSP editorial calendar.
- In coordination with the Associate Director, consider overarching messaging and framing for Aspen FSP content, as well as messaging and framing for individual content products.
- Draft, edit, build, and/or schedule website content.
- Manage workflows for longer-form content such as research briefs.
- Create and manage promotion and distribution plans for key content products as well as longer-term campaigns.
Email (30%)
- With strategic direction from the Associate Director, manage all deadlines and workflows for the Aspen FSP email calendar (part of the overall editorial calendar).
- Draft and/or edit copy for Aspen FSP newsletters, event emails, and other emails as assigned.
- Build and schedule emails.
- In coordination with the Associate Director, test and optimize Aspen FSP emails to support the organizations marketing goals.
Social Media (15%)
- With strategic direction from the Associate Director, manage all deadlines and workflows for the Aspen FSP social media calendar (part of the overall editorial calendar).
- Draft and/or edit copy for Aspen FSP social media posts (LinkedIn and X).
- Build and schedule social media posts.
- In coordination with the Associate Director, test and optimize Aspen FSP social presence to support the organizations marketing goals, particularly on LinkedIn.
Cross-Cutting Responsibilities (15%)
- In coordination with the Communications & Events team, regularly review, capture, and analyze data to inform FSPs marketing strategy and impact reporting.
- Maintain regular, professional communication with FSP colleagues about all marketing workstreams.
- Coordinate with vendors on project execution, including communicating about project workflows/deadlines, drafting scopes of work, and processing invoices.
- Research and implement new tools or processes as directed.
- In concert with the Associate Director, liaise internally with Aspens central communications team to ensure cross-marketing, promotion, and project support.
- Support the Associate Director and related vendors with PR strategy and outreach, as directed.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO THRIVE
- Minimum of 3-5+ years of relevant, demonstrated experience in a communication, marketing, journalism, and/or editorial role.
- BA degree in a relevant field (such as communications, marketing, or journalism); or equivalent on-the-job training and work experience.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with an emphasis on clarity, respect, and curiosity.
- Has excellent writing skills with close attention to detail and a focus on brand voice, clarity, and accuracy.
- Demonstrated experience producing solid, complete first drafts of written products geared for the target audience, and proactively get feedback and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Emerging ability to identify the interests and needs of key audiences, and subsequently craft messages and/or design products with clear focus on intent.
- Emerging ability to analyze and interpret marketing data, with the aim to provide context and inform strategy/planning.
- Is organized and able to manage multiple processes at once, with increased scale and complexity, proposing solutions or improvements to processes they are responsible.
- Consistently meets deadlines, and proactively proposes and negotiates timely solutions for potential roadblocks.
- Some knowledge of or interest in issues related to financial security, including retirement savings, asset building, or consumer protection, is a plus.
