JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Vice President to join our Retirement Plan Investment Group within the Chief Investment Office.
As a Vice President within the Retirement Plan Investment Group, you will report directly to the Portfolio Manager of Equity Investments, assisting in the management and oversight of the equity investment strategies within the Firm’s Retirement and 401K Plans. You will be expected to possess strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, a solid understanding of capital markets and complex investment strategies, along with a demonstrated ability and to formulate market views, screening and analyzing investment strategies, and overall portfolio construction.
Job responsibilities:
Assist with the research and due diligence of potential public equity investment managers, including screening, selection and ongoing monitoring related to both existing and prospective investment manager strategies
Proactively identify, source, research and evaluate new investment strategies for possible inclusion in the portfolio, and assist in the end-to-end investment process, including developing an investment thesis and associated guidelines for new investments
Assist in the regular monitoring of portfolio investments, including investment performance, assessing management teams, and conducting regular portfolio reviews with investment managers
Prepare investment reports and presentations (both standard and ad hoc) for internal stakeholders, including the investment committee and senior management
Identify and mitigate investment risks through thorough analysis and scenario modeling
Develop and effectively communicate market related views
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
5 to 7 years of direct experience in conducting due diligence on public equity oriented separate accounts, mutual fund or commingled fund strategies for institutional pension and 401k plans
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, economics is required
Proficient in the use of portfolio attribution and risk analytics systems (e.g., Factset, BARRA, Axioma, Bloomberg); proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom, MS Teams
Strong problem solving and project management skills with a well-proven track record of performing complex assignments under tight deadlines while maintaining superior quality of work product
Ability to effectively collaborate and establish strong, working relationships (at all levels) – both internal and external
Demonstrate excellent analytical (quantitative and qualitative), written, and oral presentation skills; ability to develop and present data to the direct manager, team members, and at Quarterly Committee meetings as needed
Intellectual curiosity; strong understanding of Global Capital Markets
Oriented to continuous risk management and process/productivity improvement
Self-motivated, able to work independently, and within a team environment
Must be results oriented, with an attention to detail, and a best practices mind-set
