New employees will begin at 90% of the starting rate for the first six months. The pay rate increases incrementally according to the union contract. Wages for new employees will be on a tiered scale based on the candidate’s skills and experience as approved by management staff at the time of hire.

Maintains facilities by performing routine painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, A/C repairs, and other related maintenance assignments.
Assist Facility Maintenance Manager (PM) as needed including building inspections, repairs, and building operations.
Maintain HVAC units including, but not limited to preventative maintenance tasks.
Repair mechanical equipment as directed or per manufacture specification
Patrol building exteriors for garbage, sweep or pressure wash lots, and walk as needed
Meet with contractors as necessary, monitor work
Assist in roof maintenance repair work as needed
Uses tools, and operates equipment needed to perform job functions such as concrete breakers, bucket trucks, cranes, forklifts, etc.
Contributes to ensuring that the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and programs of RTA are carried out
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Follow all RTA’s safety, and security policies, and procedures.
Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
Complete safety training and certifications
Properly store flammable materials.
Keep a log of maintenance performed
Timely completion of work lists
Walk through building spaces regularly to create work orders for any irregularities that may indicate a larger building problem, i.e., temperature irregularities, leaks, stains
Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment on all equipment like overhead cranes,
Assists in developing policies and procedures
Assists in keeping trucks and equipment clean.
Assists with moving furniture and/or equipment.
Performs other job-related duties in keeping with RTA's goals and objectives.
Use protective hearing, eyewear, and shoes when necessary
Qualifications
EDUCATION
High school diploma or G.E.D. Copy of high school diploma or G.E.D. to be submitted at the time of application.
Industry Based Certifications preferred
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, and boilers.
Must be experienced in the industrial electrical field and be able to troubleshoot electrical problems
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS- Preferred
2nd class license in air conditioning, refrigeration, and boilers
2nd class "D" Journeyman Electrical License
Must submit to a criminal background check, the results of which must meet hiring criteria for the role. WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced ability to read standard blueprints concerning Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, & Sprinkler Systems (MEPS)
Display working knowledge of all engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including devices that interact with such programs.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostic skills to find the root cause of a problem and propose a solution.
Familiar with construction industry Lockout-Tagout procedures and other safety procedures
