What is the Customer Support Front Office Team responsible for?
The Consumer Support Front Office (Desktop Support) Team provides technology and functional support to internal clients for issues including hardware, operating systems, desktop/web applications, mobility, conferencing, and printing. We are the primary customer interface with technology and are responsible for supporting all customer-facing technologies.
What is the Audio-Visual Engineer responsible for?
The Audio-Visual Engineer will be responsible for providing support and management of the company's conferencing equipment (video conferencing, audio visual, web, streaming, etc.). This includes conference room equipment (Teams, Zoom, Crestron, cameras, computers etc.), video conference call preparation, special support requests, equipment, and general technical and operational support. They will be responsible for the facilitation and execution of audio-visual, and conferencing requests and will collaborate closely with internal customers, Facilities, Events, and technical teams to support meetings/events. We also provide AV designs and solutions for new office spaces and conference room enhancements.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of an AV Engineer?
Provide on-site AV support and customer service for our New York offices/employees; conference rooms, large all-hands/client events, virtual meetings, local and regional venues for corporate events, and more.
Manage the Audio/Video team calendar, which includes meeting planning and set up
Proficiency with sound board/camera controls
Perform preventive maintenance on conference rooms (connections, wires, peripherals, speakers, etc.)
Train users on conference room technologies
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair server hardware for AV systems; perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of end user issues and problems, escalating issues internally or with support vendors when necessary
Configure, test, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and decommission conferencing hardware/software
Upgrade conference room technologies
Troubleshoot all Audio/Video equipment problems, coordinating resolution efforts with outside vendors as appropriate
Design conference room technical solutions to meet customer needs using defined technology standards
Manage projects -- from obtaining quotes to production readiness, including management of vendors, internal engineering, and support teams
Communicate and document accurate status of work-in-progress and complete with manager, team members and customers
Order and maintain inventory of IT assets
Manage the AV ticket queues to ensure issues are prioritized and actioned
Provide backup assistance to peers when needed
Availability to provide support outside business hours
What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
A technical bachelor’s degree, technology area certification or equivalent combination of a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of related experience of supporting meetings in a corporate environment
Experience in mid to large, global enterprise environments, with geographically- dispersed, culturally-diverse populations
Expertise supporting Zoom/Teams/Webex and other conferencing technologies
Ability to lift equipment (35-50lbs)
Excellent skills and abilities in organization, planning, multi-tasking, and flexibility
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Domain understanding of the Financial Services or other highly regulated, industry
Experience using ServiceNow Ticketing system

Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $95,000 and $110,000.
