Job Abstract

A Buyer job in Temecula, CA, is available at Milgard Windows and Doors. You will perform a variety of non-routine purchasing activities, requiring knowledge of basic procurement policies. Maintains vendor files and logs and prepares orders, analyzes quotes, verifies deliveries, and obtains pricing information—purchases raw materials and finished goods according to established procedures. You should have a High School diploma or GED. Milgard Windows & Doors is the leading manufacturer of windows and doors in the Western United States, operating in Washington, Oregon, and California. MI Windows recently acquired Milgard, which creates additional opportunities for growth and synergies between these two industry leaders.

Starting Pay: $27

Responsibility:

• You will perform a variety of non-routine purchasing activities, requiring knowledge of basic procurement policies.
• Maintains vendor files and logs. Prepares orders analyzes quotes, verifies deliveries, and obtains pricing information.
• Purchases raw materials and finished goods according to established procedures.
• Generate purchase orders as required by the Bill of Materials, stock supply on hand, and inventory count.
• As the material is received, you will update the HFA (Software System) to reflect receipt.
• Process discrepant material reports as required and/or requested.
• Reflect Milgard business values and Philosophy in all business interactions.
• Research vendors and suppliers and their respective pricing to ensure Milgard is getting optimum value.
• Prepares, reviews, and distributes daily reports.
• Research all backorder issues and expedite product as necessary.
• Reflects Milgard’s business values and the Milgard Philosophy in all business interactions.
• Incorporates Milgard’s vision and values into day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to the Milgard philosophy.
• Adheres to all facets of safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Experience in purchasing/procurement preferred
• High School diploma or GED. Some college is preferred but not required.
• Purchasing Certificate is desired
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Computer literacy with the ability to learn new computer software programs
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills with an attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Prolonged sitting and terminal use
• Minimal lifting of office equipment and supplies
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. along with hand dexterity and strength
• The ability to work overtime may be required.
• Experience with multiple phone lines
