Job Abstract

Burson is looking for a talented Senior Account Executive/Account Manager with strong writing and digital publishing and earned media experience to join our group. An interest and experience in sustainability and/or agriculture communications are key. The successful candidate will have proven experience writing for a variety of audiences as well as understanding their individual nuances.

They should also be comfortable with digital platforms such as WordPress, social media publishing platforms such as Sprout, and create compelling content that will cut through.

The candidate should equally be confident in proactive earned media, with the ability to relentlessly pursue coverage and possess strong contacts within the national press, as well as experience in placing sustainability stories with top-tier, opinion-forming media.

We are looking for someone who is both a self-starter and a team player – motivated to deliver results but also able to work effectively with colleagues.

What you'll need:

• 5+ years of communications/PR experience either agency or in-house; agency experience preferred; sector experience in retail and/or agriculture a plus
• Proven experience in media relations; a track record of success placing sustainability stories with national print, digital and broadcast outlets
• Experienced in all aspects of content + publishing and comfortable at the intersection of earned, owned and paid media
• Excellent knowledge of the social media landscape; experience developing social media strategy and creating and publishing content for brands/organizations
• Results oriented – won’t stop until you deliver results
• Takes initiative; doesn’t wait to be told
• Experience or active interest in sustainability and/or agriculture are key

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $45,000 to $90,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
