SALARY RANGE: $37,250.00 - $43,488.00 ?ANNUALLY

Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in a sign shop where such conditions as noxious fumes, extremes of cold and heat and etching acids are encountered. Work requires moderate physical exertion in lifting and shifting large or heavy metal signs and materials.
SELECTION PROCESS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:
EDUCATION: Have graduated from high school or possession of a GED certificate.
AND
EXPERIENCE: Have three years of experience in sign fabrication and repair.
OR
NOTE(EQUIVALENCIES) - Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of drawing, lettering and silk-screen techniques and procedures.
- Knowledge of sign fabrication techniques and standards.
- Knowledge of photographic equipment utilized in creating negatives for silk-screen processing.
- Ability to assign, review and correct the work of subordinate staff engaged in sign fabrication.
- Ability to draw, letter and silk-screen metal signs.
- Ability to fabricate special signs and posters as necessary.
- Ability to operate photographic equipment used in silk-screen and sign fabrication.
