Summary Now offering a $1,500 sign on bonus for Medical Assistant / MOS new hires! Effective April 1, 2024 and expires December 1, 2024. Applicable only for MOS positions in the Centers of Excellence and Maryland Family Care practices, of which this role applies to. This Medical Assistant role provides Front/Back office duties to various Dermatology providers in an outpatient setting. The Medical Assistant supporting our dermatolgy department is responsible for obtaining patient charts and encounter forms for all visits, accurately collecting and documenting basic patient assessments, assisting providers with exams and procedures and room stocking. Part of this role will also include being a scribe. Responsibilities Front Office Duties: Greet patients in a courteous and friendly manner, providing a welcoming atmosphere. Schedule and confirm patient appointments and provedures Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or fees as needed. Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information to patients and other callers. Complete patient check-in and check-out processes Back Office Duties: Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update electronic health records (EHR). Administer injections and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers. (on-site training provided) Perform basic laboratory tests, including specimen collection and processing. Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers. Requirements Education and Work Experience: High School Diploma or GED A minimum of one year experience, preferrably in a medical office setting Certification Requirements: CPR-preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel Microsoft Outlook Meditech (if applicable to position) Epic (if applicable to position) Performance Manager/NetLearning Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
