Nokia of America Corporation, Team Lead Silicon Photonics Design (Multiple Positions), New York, NY. Support Nokia’s optical networking product portfolio by developing long term strategy for silicon photonics (SiPh) design platform and development kit. Assist with silicon photonic circuit research and development for integration in high-speed electro-optical front-ends. Perform project and tape-out planning for silicon-photonics development. Provide guidance for Research and Development (R&D) personnel in the silicon photonics design area. Set strategic R&D and product roadmaps to develop next-generation high baud (130Gbaud+) optical subcomponents and modules. Design, develop and build, and test systems and products based on optic, photonic, and laser technologies. Work on photonic integrated circuit (PIC) design and layout, process kit development, process and new material integration, and analysis and software development. Drive multiple areas of PIC architecture including optical budgets, component performance, controls, footprint/size, reliability, KGD tracking, manufacturability, and production test. Design SiPh mask layouts. Interact with various foundaries’ work and process flow. Simulate electro-optic modulator and characteristics with custom Python scripts and in a Cadence circuit simulation environment. Provide support by specifying algorithms and other control routines for photonic integrated circuits.
