Position Overview:
This group of ancillary personnel is trained to perform environmental sanitation activities in the Surgical Services Department. The Housekeeping Aide, for Surgical Services performs routine environmental sanitation activities and departmental special projects housekeeping in the Surgical Services Department, including operating rooms, ensuring a sanitary, safe and comfortable environment for patients, visitors and employees.
The Housekeeping Aide must competently and swiftly clean surgical operating rooms and related equipment in the surgical room multiple times each day in a timely manner before and after each patient's surgery using special handling techniques required to clean operating room equipment or around operating room equipment.
The Housekeeping Aide must also balance routine special project cleaning or timeframes unique to Surgical Services Department.
Job Description:
EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma: High School Diploma or General Education (GED) or equivalent education/experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
One year recent or experience required or one year EVS experience in a clinical hospital setting.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of environmental cleaning in a surgical practice setting required.
Must complete training and demonstrate required competencies.
Good mental and physical health.
Good verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
Ability to move 50 lbs.
Ability to operate floor cleaning machines.

Pay Range is $26.37 to $33.11 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.
