We are seeking a highly-skilled, experienced Chief Accounting Officer to join our growing organization as we become an independent public company. Altera’s Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) oversees the Record to Report (R2R) function while ensuring US GAAP and international local statutory compliance. In addition to overseeing the R2R function, the CAO will be the Finance owner for business process and technology architecture. A key aspect of this role will be to stand up the accounting organization and prepare the team for IPO.
This position reports to Altera’s CFO and works collaboratively with the Intel CAO.
Responsibilities include:
Ensures the preparation and analysis of all financial reports meet the needs of the organization and comply with SEC reporting requirements and global regulations.
Directs and develops the organization's global accounting policies, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
Advises management of potential changes in accounting regulations or practices that may impact operations and reporting.
Creates functional strategies and key objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support achieving expected results.
Strong relationship with business partners, auditors, executive staff, and the Board of Directors (BOD).
Partners with operations finance, tax and treasury departments to develop solutions and strategies that support our investment and execution objectives.
Will be required to provide technical guidance to a variety of business situations, inclusive of preparation of IPO documents, merger and acquisition investments and divestitures.
Monitoring and influencing emerging US GAAP, IFRS and SEC developments, including participation in outreach with regulators and industry peers.

Qualifications:
15+ years of corporate accounting and controllership experience; existing Chief Accounting Officer in a Fortune 100 company preferred.
Specific experience establishing financial and accounting regulatory processes for a new organization, up to and inclusive of IPO.
Business process architecture leadership with installation of a new ERP system and related controls, partnering closely with IT and business units required.
BS or equivalent in a related field; advanced degree (MBA, etc) a plus; relevant industry certifications such as CPA a plus.
