Agile Systems Engineering Department employs technical strategy encompassing system modernization, architecture, digital engineering, DevSecOps, and agile development. Our department is committed to cultivating and implementing agile and innovative methodologies, techniques, tools, and technologies to ensure the success of our sponsors in large-scale or complex modernization initiatives. MITRE is seeking a Multidiscipline Engineer with emphasis on DevOps and AI to join a dynamic and multi-disciplined organization involved in innovating solutions for complex technical systems. MITRE seeks professionals with various expertise (e.g. software tools, processes, DevSecOps, CI/CD, MLOps, AI-Enabled Systems, cloud services, agile methodologies, transition design, etc.) to work with a team of experienced experts working in digital transformation efforts.

Roles & Responsibilities:

You will help solve problems for government customers in collaboration with stakeholders from private, federal, state and local sectors. Specific responsibilities will include:

• Develop solutions as a full stack developer involving frontend and backend applications and services.
• Work as an individual contributor or be part of a team delivering complex solutions using Software Development Lifecycle principles.
• Build, administer and manage processes that introduce DevOps concepts of testing, prototyping, security, automation, etc.
• Leverage and build AI-Enabled Systems and tools to implement government solutions.
• Continually update technical knowledge and skills by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, etc.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including ideation, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Treat all challenges as opportunities to learn, excel and deliver state of the art solutions to solve nation’s problems.

Basic Qualifications:

• B.S. Computer Science or related discipline
• Hands on expertise in software development process, tools and languages including Java, Python, SQL, JavaScript, XML, JSON, HTML/CSS, Shell, MySQL, MongoDB and Git
• Experience with code merging and promotion and building and managing CI/CD workflows and tools.
• Understanding of microservices and distributed application architecture
• Familiarity with Agile Development, CI/CD, SCRUM, and System Design Assist in the documentation of software, including user manuals and technical reports.
• Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, presentation, and communications skills.
• This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preference given to qualified candidates holding active clearance.
• Advanced degree in applicable major.
• Experience with Chef, Puppet or Ansible and Docker-Compose in production environments.
• 2 + years of applicable software lifecycle experience
• Advanced understanding of architecting and automating cloud native technologies; provisioning IaC, IaaS, or SaaS; and deploying applications
• Familiarity with AI programming languages and platforms such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras
• Advanced skills in Data Management including proficiency in using advanced software such as Hive, Hadoop, and Jenkins is a plus.
