Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate Director - Cisco & Cloud.
In this role, we are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Associate Director of Network Engineering to lead and oversee our network engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in Cisco network systems design, Arista networking, DNS, TCP/IP, various IP network routing protocols, and cloud networking. This role requires a visionary leader who can design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable network infrastructures that meet the dynamic needs of our organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Network Services, the Associate Director of Network Engineering is responsible for solutions strategy, engineering design, setting policies, implementation and operationalizing best practices around our enterprise network systems. This role will provide structure and technical leadership managing team priorities, technical direction, streamline work efforts, manage business expectations and communicate status to leadership. As a member of the infrastructure management team, this position leads new thinking on how we refresh our existing network systems platforms and engineer new technology. The individual should be comfortable working across all of NYU Langone Healths business units to implement, enhance and maintain secure applications delivery. This individual will leverage the latest recognized technologies and processes and will execute a multi-year roadmap to deliver these services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Network Engineering and Design:
- Lead engineering and design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-level network architectures with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
- Develop and implement strategies for network growth and enhancements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Assess the latest market trends and evaluate how they may be incorporated into our strategy to improve the enterprise network platform.
- Cloud Networking:
- Design and manage network architectures in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring secure and efficient connectivity.
- Integrate on-premises networks with cloud infrastructure, enabling hybrid cloud solutions.
- IP Network Routing Protocols:
- Configure and manage various IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) to ensure efficient and reliable routing of network traffic.
- Optimize routing policies and procedures to improve network performance and resilience.
- Cisco and Arista Networking:
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and management of Cisco and Arista network devices, including switches and routers.
- Ensure the reliability and performance of the network through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce best practice network policies and procedures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
- Ensure network compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- DNS and TCP/IP:
- Manage and maintain DNS infrastructure, ensuring reliable domain name resolution and service availability.
- Implement and troubleshoot TCP/IP protocols and services to ensure optimal network performance.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Manage and mentor a team of network engineers, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.
- Partner with architecture teams to align various network solutions to meet our application and business needs to support our clinical, administrative, education and research staff.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous learning and improvement.
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage network-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
- Collaborate with other IT and business teams to support and implement cross-functional projects.
- Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation and disaster recovery plans.
- Provide technical support escalation for Network Operations team.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 10 or more years of experience and BA/BS degree or equivalent. Prior supervisory experience is required

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $146,384.38 - $158,447.16 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
