Role Summary:

We are looking for a Staff Engineer who wants to join a new organization in an early phase to help set the vision and strategy. You will build and lead a suite of products to upgrade the Saks fulfillment experience. As a Staff Engineer on the Fulfillment Applications team, you will break down and solve highly complex supply chain and logistics challenges leveraging data and anecdotes. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, and is able to conceptualize and drive complex initiatives end to end, with proven experience working cross functionally with operations and engineering teams. This role requires experience building both fulfillment center and customer-facing products, comfort in ambiguous situations, an ability to influence without authority, and a strong ability to communicate effectively and understand the different needs of customers. Finally, the ideal candidate has a burning desire to be a part of something really big.
Key Qualifications:
10+ years of experience performing relevant engineering job functions, preferably in the fulfillment center ecommerce space.
Proven success in delivering technology products/services in a high growth environment
Demonstrated Data-driven decision making and quantitative analysis skills, including deep knowledge of statistical analysis, Excel, SQL, and/or other analytical techniques
Communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross-functional teams
Ability to think strategically while staying on top of tactical execution
Bias for action and willingness to take risks
Exhibits excellent judgment
Understanding of Manhattan warehouse management systems
Manhattan proactive certification or Manhattan active upgrade certification is a plus
Role Description:
Work with Principal Engineers to execute product management as planned
Design, develop and manage activities for a large range of products from product definition and planning through ideation, release, iterations and end of life
Interview end users in the fulfillment center to configure solutions that meet their needs
Serve as a critical resource with design, engineering, operation, test, CS and merchandising as the product(s) move to production and distribution
Deliver customer value by meeting and exceeding launch deadlines, optimizing feature sets, and helping craft the product roadmap.
