Project Overview:
This role serves as HR Manager for Bechtel Equipment Operations (BEO) which is a Corporate Operating Center supporting all GBUs.
Job Summary:
As a HR Manager at Bechtel, you will serve as a team leader in the administration, communication, delivery, evaluation, and issue resolution of key HR activities such as staffing, onboarding, compensation planning, performance management, employee relations and affirmative action plans. Your leadership will ensure compliance, consistency, and effectiveness of HR activities. This position will provide HR direction and support for both professional staff deployed across the globe and craft professionals. #LI-HB1
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversees staffing activities including SmartStaff data management for employees based and/or assigned to BEO.
- Utilizes HR/Workforce Services (WFS) tools to track and account for all BEO based and/or assigned positions.
- Develops talent and workforce plans that improve and support business performance.
- Works within the HR/WFS Model to deliver or facilitate delivery of services.
- Counsels and advises management and employees on HR and WFS policies, programs, and processes to ensure consistent application and compliance.
- Assists management in identifying training and development needs and either conductus or arranges for training and tracking of training.
- Counsels leaders on talent and workforce matters and employee relations issues.
- Partners with HR/WFS central employee relations team on investigations and performance management.
- Monitors and performs audits on data integrity.
- Works with BEO managers and employees to assess, create and implement innovative solutions for a variety of employee engagement objectives and initiatives.
- Models and instills the culture and organizational values within the business.
- Analyze and utilize business metrics and data on productivity, retention and employee experience and offer insights to business decisions on how to achieve talent objectives.
- Split time between the BEO office in Sugar Land, TX and the BEO equipment yard in Houston, TX.
- Leads and implements HR/WFS processes and programs.
- Provides leadership and development of direct reports.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Level 1
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Level 2
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Level 1:
- Proven HR Generalist knowledge and experience across a broad range of HR work processes, policies, systems and tools.
- Talent management including experience assessing management talent and providing advice to management.
- Administration of HR performance and compensation planning, workforce planning and talent acquisition.
- Handling sensitive employee and manager relations matters.
- Evidence of business acumen with proven results in influencing and advising managers and leaders at all levels who are both virtual and local.
- Hands-on experience using SAP/TalentWorks or other global HRIS systems.
- Data analytics skills and abilities.
- Good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Office, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
- Possess service mindset and ability to build strong relationships.
- Ability to work in a high-volume transaction environment.
- Proactive, flexible, and adaptive to changing priorities.
- Experience with metrics formulation, production, and analysis; knowledge of Bechtel's PowerBI tool.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Level 2:
- International experience working outside of the country of origin.
- Experience working with leaders at the enterprise level.
