Job Abstract

St. Rose of Lima Parish in Gaithersburg, Maryland, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to maintain parish grounds and facility using efficient problem-solving, cost-effective methods, and repairs to ensure safe standards and practices. Supervisory skills are required as other employee staff report to this position.

• The maintenance manager will be responsible for troubleshooting all systems including the HVAC system.
• This role will also be responsible for snow removal, small painting jobs, electrical work, repairs such as light plumbing.
• The Maintenance Manager will supervise the work of a contract employee who does janitorial work.

The Maintenance Manager must have the ability to fix and troubleshoot all systems, including HVAC using computer controls. Heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds), moving of materials, and snow removal are required. Ability to climb ladders, clean gutters, and operate various machinery used in the maintenance of parish grounds and facility are required. Electrical, painting, and custodial duties are required. Maintain tractor equipment used in snow removal.

General grounds keeping and landscaping work will be required, and knowledge of gardening is preferred. The ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with the campus community through effective communication is required. At least 10 years of relevant experience is preferred. Fluency in English, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a background check are required. A high school diploma is required, but a Trade School degree is preferred. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position which starts August 1, 2024.
