About the Role
The Sr Quality Engineer plans, supports, and implements quality programs to improve the quality of products manufactured and purchased. Evaluates, selects, and develops supply base and assesses new supplier technology to obtain maximum quality and productivity levels. Formulates and/or assists in formulating internal/external quality control policies and procedures, and development of quality standards. Ensures compliance to Corporate Quality standards. Serves as a technical liaison and coordinates activity of internal and external resources. Serves as a resource by providing a problem-solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered. Participates in quality planning during launch phase of new products. Champions continuous improvement efforts by leading supplier development projects/programs. Researches, recommends, and supports implementation of new and/or existing quality assurance processes of suppliers. Performs other duties as necessary. May supervise and/or provide work direction to other staff.

Performing quality systems and process assessments of potential electrical component suppliers and leading supplier development activities.
Solid organizational and project management skills and demonstrated effectiveness to lead and collaborate with cross-functional/global teams.
Supporting the sourcing process by pro-actively identifying and assessing potential/series suppliers, participating in internal and external technical reviews with supplier and engineering.
Leading APQP and PPAP activities for all components, conducting supplier on-site assessments to verify effectiveness of process/quality control methods and series production readiness.
Actively driving continuous improvement activities, initiating, and following up on corrective actions.
Actively participating in the change management process and leading the certification of new component versions or manufacturing process changes.
Teaming up with Engineering, Purchasing, Suppliers, and Customers to harmonize discrepancies in product specifications and evaluate cost reduction or quality improvement opportunities.
Plans, supports, and implements supplier quality programs in conjunction Magna Electronic goals and objectives. Defines scope, plans, organizes, leads, and directs technical work and departmental efforts related to quality engineering activities to improve the quality of products purchased by the Company.
Participates in continuous improvement efforts for products, tools, processes, and programs.
Responsible for the adherence of all processes, tools, and methods of the program management team to all applicable standards, laws, rules, and regulations.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations.
Maintains regular attendance.
Follows safe work procedures; Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Reports workplace hazards, injuries, and illness as soon as possible following event.
Who we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar
At least 5 years previous experience in Automotive Industry Quality Engineering
Your preferred qualifications
Knowledge of Mechanical parts, Semiconductors, Electronics/Electromechanical manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of Automotive APQP/PPAP/PSW processes.
IATF16949, VDA, ISO9001 knowledge
Failure Analysis such as 5 Why’s, Fishbone Diagram, Cause and Effect Analysis, FMEA, 8D problem solving methodology.
Comprehensive knowledge of English (verbal and written)
German as a second language preferred but not required.
Flexibility to travel national and international, up to 25% of travel.
Interpersonal skills that are required to lead, mentor, communicate, and build the technical capabilities of a cross-functional and cross- cultural organization.
Strong leadership qualities.

Site Benefits
Salary Range: $110k-155k depending on the experience of the candidate. Final compensation offers are based on final candidate qualifications and experience along with budgeted range of position.
